Lwemisege Turning Into a Model Primary
School
During KZP’s baseline survey of Kifamba sub county, 54% of
the children were primary going, 9% secondary going as well as children
at home totalled to 242 which is 37%. Reasons for such numbers of
children not going to school range from lack of school fees and
other school facilities to prejudices held by society against education.

Zukuka's Quest Towards a Hunger
Free Community
“You can take a horse to the lake but you can not force it
to drink...” so goes an old saying but this time round both
will work because we are devising a participatory approach by all
stakeholders of KZP.Having assessed the needs of the area it was
realized that the lack of enough food throughout the year is the
core problem in the community. A series of visits have been made
by organizations with similar objectives and it looks like a step
towards our goal has been made.

Global Fund Supports Zukuka in the
Fight Against HIV/AIDS
KZP is one of the organizations that have responded to the call
by the Director General of Health Services; “Health is made
at home and can only be repaired when it breaks down in a healthy
facility … so to avoid this, be clean, feed well, and do not
share accommodation with animals. This is a message from the DGHS.”
In her pilot project therefore KZP has identified and provided practical
measures to fulfill her objectives and to contribute practically
to community transformation.

live in. Kifamba Zukuka Programme (KZP)’s main objective is
to create a total community transformation and that is inclusive
of the environment.Because desertification is swallowing up Rakai
district, Kifamba sub county KZP’s operational area is not

Kifamba Sub County
is one of the areas faced with an acute problem of orphans and vulnerable
children. This has been as a result of the devastating AIDS scourge
that has claimed lives of many residents and incapacitating others
still living with the HIV/AIDS virus.Most
of the affected children can not access quality education especially
after completing the primary school level. School drop out levels
are so high for the school going age.With the realization of the
above, Zukuka program came up with an idea of tapping sustainable
and career oriented talents that can develop the youths.
